Knowledgeable guides introduce and explain the history and fabric of this fine English Victorian Gothic Cathedral.
To go on a tour, please gather in the body of the Cathedral by the entrance to the Visitors' Centre a few minutes before the tour is due to commence. For more information, please see the Visitors' Centre staff.
Audio Tour
Audio tours are available in English, Chinese, Japanese and German. These may be purchased at the Cathedral Gift Shop in the Visitors' Centre. $10 per unit. The tour takes approximately 35 minutes.
Parking
There is plenty of parking available close to the Cathedral. The Christchurch City Council operates a number of central city parking buildings. There is also metered parking available on the streets surrounding the Cathedral.
If you have an appointment with a member of staff at the Cathedral then parking is available within the Cathedral grounds, you must however obtain a parking permit from the staff at the information desk before parking there.
Accessibility
The Cathedral and Visitors Centre are readily accessible for those visitors in wheelchairs and with mobility problems. There are a wheelchair ramps located on the south side of the main entrance and at the entrance to the Visitors Centre.
