Christmas in a Bubble
The annual children and animal's service went ahead this year in a rather unusual venue. Part of what served as Christchurch 'party central' during the recent Rugby World Cup remains in North Hagley Park in the form of three domes. The largest of these two days before Christmas, hosted an amazing mix of animals, children, parents, grandparents, Cathedral staff and visitors. Around 350 attended on a bright pre-Christmas summers day, a colourful, smelly and joyous retelling of the Christmas story. We know all humans present appreciated the outing and assume creatures great and small experienced the same post quake, pre-Christmas spirit of togetherness.
