Healthy Eating Co-op

Fresh fruit and vegetables are becoming increasingly unaffordale for those on low incomes. Life is getting tougher and tougher for those who have the least in New Zealand. Christchurch Cathedral is seeking to assist the community through a Healthy Eating Cooperative offering affordable market fresh fruit and vegetable on a weekly basis. This programme is offered in partnership with Community and Public Health (District Health Board) who will provide health information, recipes, and support on healthy eating. A pilot programme commenced in the New Brighton area on October 5, 2011 and be gradually extended out through November, December 2011.
