Rebuild

There is strong resolve to rebuild a Cathedral in the City's centre if the land is found to be stable following the destructive earthquakes of 4 September, 2010 and 22 February, 2011. "We will aim to listen to and seek guidance from both church and wider community" says Dean Peter Beck, "a Cathedral will be rebuilt".

The Cathedral has set up a Project Control Group (PCG Committee) to steer us into the future. Reports are posted on the part of the Cathedral website

The task of rebuilding is an immense challenge. Auckland based firm RCP have been appointed   as project managers. Their task has only just begun and as reports are furnished we will communicate progress regularly on this site.
