Prior to the 2010 / 2011 earthquakes over 300 volunteers contributed to the life of the Cathedral. We relied on volunteers to welcome visitors every day of the year. Rostered volunteers gave their time in the Cathedral or worked as assistants in the Visitors’ Centre shop. Some volunteers progressed to become Cathedral Guides giving tours of the Cathedral. There have obviously been very big changes since the Cathedral was devastated by a number of earthquakes. However, volunteers are still vital to our ongoing life and we are keen to hear from those seeking to assist.
How you can assist
If you would be interested in becoming a Cathedral volunteer then please get in touch with the Volunteer Manager, Nicky Lee to discuss possible opportunities for voluntary work.
